Application of relay in household appliances

Air conditioning relays are mainly used to control compressor motors, fan motors and cooling pump motors to perform related control functions.

Compressor motors for household appliances generally have a power of 1 to 3 horsepower, while fan motors and cooling pump motors are 1/4 to 2 horsepower. Due to the moment when the load starts, there is a large inrush current, which is about 6 times the full load current. It takes a long time for the compressor motor to reach full speed, which poses a serious threat to the relay contacts. Therefore, the load capacity of the relay is required to have sufficient margin, and it is required to eliminate the contact bounce when the relay is sucked as much as possible. It is possible to release quickly and minimize contact bounce. The safety requirements are strict and must be recognized by the safety certification agency.

Product environmental conditions: Ambient temperature: -40 to 55 degrees Celsius, relative humidity of 40 degrees Celsius, 95%, rainwater infiltration, and coastal areas require salt fog protection. Because weight and size are not important indicators, the relay is required to be robust and impact resistant.

In the field of household electrical appliances, relays are used in washing machines, microwave ovens, and electric heaters. The relay contact load can be as large as 220V, 5000W heater (or 1 horsepower motor) load, as small as driving solenoids, other relay coils, indicator lights and other small loads. The expected life of the relay is required to reach 5 to 10 years, which means that the electrical life of the relay is required to reach 105 times to 2x105 times. Ambient temperature: -40 to 55 degrees Celsius (microwave ovens, electric heaters require 85 degrees Celsius), relative humidity 20%-95%. The safety requirements are strict and must be recognized by the safety certification agency.
