    An electromechanical switch operates based on the principle of mechanical movement to open or close an electrical circuit. When the switch is actuated, the mechanical contacts either come together (closed circuit) or move apart (open circuit), enabling or disabling the electrical path.
    Unlike purely electronic switches, which control electrical signals through semiconductors, electromechanical switches rely on moving parts that physically touch or disconnect, making them robust and reliable for numerous applications. However, this reliance on mechanical movement often means these switches are more susceptible to wear and tear over time, as physical contact between parts can cause erosion.
