    The relay works by continuously monitoring the electrical circuit and comparing the current flowing through the live wire to that flowing through the neutral wire. In a properly functioning system, the currents should be balanced. However, when leakage occurs, the current will be imbalanced, and the relay will detect this discrepancy.
