    What is a 12 Volt Relay?

The relay typically has multiple contacts, such as a common (COM), normally open (NO), and normally closed (NC), which allow different control options based on the type of relay.
    When the 12V voltage is applied to the relay's coil, the magnetic field generated by the coil causes the armature to move, opening or closing the contact points. This action allows the relay to switch a circuit, turning on or off a device or system that requires higher voltage or current to operate.
